About makeprivacy.org

makeprivacy.org publishes free guides and tools for people and small businesses who want to depend less on Big Data platforms: the free services paid for with your data, and the ones that quietly become the only place your records exist.

It is written by the team behind makeprivacy.com, which designs and builds private business systems for companies. Everything here comes from systems we built and run for our own companies first, with the real numbers. We don't publish client stories.

What we promise on this site

• No cookies, no analytics, no advertising or tracking scripts, and nothing loaded from other companies' servers.
• No sign-up. The guides and tools are free to use.
• Tools run in your browser wherever they can. Where one needs the outside world (DNS lookups for the email check, Bitcoin and the timestamp calendars), our server makes the request for you and stores nothing. See the privacy notice.
